AOP Vacqueyras – Domaine de la Libellule

Brand new cuvée born in 2020. Our Vacqueyras Domaine de la Libellule is made from vineyards located in the village of Sarrians. The Domaine name comes from the dragonfly (=Libellule) symbol of the rich biodiversity found in the vineyards showing the good sanitary conditions of the vines.

Terroir
High gravely terraces from Garrigues Sud in Sarrians with pebbles and limestone gravels on brown marl.
Grape varieties
70% Grenache, 30% Syrah
Winemaking
Selection of the best parcels successively harvested at optimum maturity according to the varietal. Fully destemmed, Grenache and Syrah are vinified separately. 5 weeks maceration to slowly extract the fruit, colour and tannins with daily pumping over, cap-punching and releases.
Ageing
6 months in concrete. No oak to show the purest expression of the fruit and terroir.
Tasting notes
This deep red wine has an intense sophisticated nose, exhibiting black fruits, liquorice and spices. The mouths is ample and powerful with silky tannins and a long aromatic finish.
Tasting advices
To enjoy now or can be kept 5 to 7 years. Serve between 15 and 17°C
Food pairings
Ideal with grilled beef such as prime rib, spicy dishes sush as Bulgogi and fine cheeses.
