The IGP Vaucluse “Principality of Orange” cuvée from Cellier des Princes stands out for its rich history and exceptional terroir. Terroir
Siliceous clay. Located on terroirs around Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Grape varieties
Grenache 70% – Syrah, Caladoc, Carignan 30%
Winemaking
De-stemming, vatting 6 to 10 days in stainless steel tanks with pumping-over. Fermentation temperature 26 to 28° C.
Ageing
9 months in concrete vats, then 3 months in bottle to round out and soften the tannins.
Tasting notes
Cherry-red with violet highlights. The nose is intense, with cherry and blackcurrant aromas. On the palate, notes of tart red berries. Pleasant to drink young, it has a clean attack on the palate, and is a supple, fruity wine.
Tasting advices
Drink now but keep for 2-3 years, serve at 14°-16°C.
Food pairings
It can be enjoyed with cold meats, grilled meats and generally with all Mediterranean dishes. It’s a typical “bistro” wine, an everyday wine that goes well with most dishes.
